Lighting Design for Offices

Lighting has an important role in the case of designing interiors for offices. Not only in case of offices for every building, it can be apartments, hotels etc. Proper office lighting enables  people to be productive. Workers can be engaged in thoughts or in multitude of tasks, or in some form of communication, ranging from written, visual, aural, electronic, and face-to-face. Therefore, it becomes imperial for businesses to pay attention to ergonomics in the workplace and create the most energy efficient and economical lighting system.

Different types of lighting produce different types of feeling within the workplace. Softer lighting is generally better for ceiling lights, as they don’t produce a glare and are more pleasing to the eyes. For office work, it’s good to have a light close by so you can see and not have to strain your eyes while you work.

The modern office space is increasingly dynamic, with mobile workstations, open floor plans and employees meeting in common spaces to collaborate on a variety of tasks and projects.  Traditional office lighting simply can’t keep up with today’s workplace demands.  A quality lighting solution is the key to improving employee performance and boosting comfort and creativity throughout your office.

Studio Apartment Decorating Tips

Designing a studio apartment can show to be very exciting as all the things are a part of a single undivided space. All the different parts of a house such as sleeping area, cooking area, dining area, study area, and the living area exists together and hence the decoration of the apartment is a hard job. Here are some tips that will help you figure out just that…

  1. Making storage space is always a problem in a studio apartment. Try to purchase furniture that performs a double duty, to have efficient storage space, as studio apartments are known to have limited space, you can easily find ottomans and chairs with storing space. You just need to lift the top to access the storage area. You can use this space for storing your pillows, blankets and other items.
  2. Mirrors reflect light and make a room look light and airy. They are great to hang in small rooms since the give the illusion of a larger space. Hanging a mirror or two on your walls could really open up your studio apartment.
  3. Create a loft and make it accessible by stairs, if your studio apartment has adequate height. You can use this as a storing part or change it as a hobby or learning area.
  4. Avoid blocking the source of light. Limiting natural light to travel in by the use of curtains and blinds will make the room look packed and small. Leave the windows completely bare or at the most dress them with sheer fabric to permit the light to come in.
  5. Studio apartments should always be painted in lighter colors, unless they are really large. It is not compulsory to stick with whites and creams but using light colors such as soothing pink, yellow, blue, shall enlarge the space and make it look big.
  6. Use vessels to hide litter. Buy bamboo bags or old steamer shorts to store out-of-season clothing, linens and towels. They will look great and contain all of those small items that make a room look messy.

Tips for Painting Interiors

The beauty of the room mainly depends on the fresh coat of paint, and so there are many points to remember before you paint your room. If you want your work to do by any professionals, you can seek the help any good professional interior works. Here is a good professional interior decoration company which I think as best from my experience. And if you want to do your work yourself, this passage will help you to do your painting work.

a. Organize a tool station in the middle of the area where you work. Keep your paint, brushes, rollers, hammers, screwdrivers, plastic bags, plastic wrap, rags, paint can opener, and drop cloths together.

b. It may seem easier to paint around door knobs or cabinet hinges, but unless you’re a professional, very skilled painter, you’re bound to get drips around. So transfer around some zip top bags and eliminate all cabinet knobs and hinges, door knobs, light switch plates and outlet covers, and light fittings. Keep the pieces organized in distinct bags and obviously mark the fillings and site (top left cabinet, bathroom door, etc.) you took them from. This is a great time to clean the hardware. Put them back when you’re done painting.

c. Don’t do everything in one day. Collect furniture in the center of the room, put blue artist’s tape around doors and windows, cover blows and holes, and cover wall and ceiling light fittings with big malleable bags, before the day you initiate to paint.

d. Clear out all the furniture and fittings, if you can. Take everything off the walls. If you can’t move everything out, place the furniture and lamps in the middle of the room and cover them with a good drop cloth. Be sure that you tape the cloth around the furniture. Then put a second cover of plastic or old sheet over everything.

e. No matter how hard you try, you’re bound to get drips of paint on whatsoever you’re tiring. So take off all jewels. Standby some ancient, but contented, dresses for your painting jobs. Slip-on shoes are informal to take off if you need to leave the room. You won’t have to worry about following drops of paint into other rooms. When you paint the ceiling, put a shawl, shower top, or old baseball hat over your hair and some plastic over your spectacles.

f. Before you start with the paint, fix all holes or cracks, if you have them. Any home center or paint store has well-informed workers to monitor you to the best goods for the job. Wide blows and large hovels can be “linked” with fiberglass adhesive tape, Spackle will seal small hovels and bangs, and extemporizing products are available to match your current wall surface.
